Branding, maybe one of the most important pieces of design created in our world today. To me branding in a nut shell is if you were to pick out an outfit that would be not only be the outfit for that day, but possibly for the next 20 years. On top of that, that same outfit would also be worn by all your employees for the same duration as you. For example, think Steve Jobs. With all of the above considered, it would behoove you to not select from your closet the neon 90s outfit you’ve been saving. The articles above both do a great job of emphasizing how brand design is a project to be taken seriously. The first from 99designsbreaks down the long process to produce a good brand design while Branding Magexplains the importance of branding design. My personal brand currently is not as developed as what 99designsdescribes. I have developed a logo, color scheme, and font choice, but guidelines, imagery, and possibly overall feel could use some improvement. As I approach my rebrand, I’d like to use the adjective and imagery method described in the 99designsarticle to help in my process. That particular method is new to me, but makes sense as to why it exists. I think as I begin my rebranding process, I will be using the article from 99designsmore since it talks more about how to make a brand versus why a brand is important. I’ll never deny the fact that having a good brand is essential for success, but how I go about making that brand is where I would like to learn more.
